This means that you can go into the exams feeling confident, because you know you can write a full essay in less time and this means that it’s going to make you feel more confident when you get into the exam. This will force you to write faster, to push your handwriting limits so that you can improve your writing speed! We suggest using the ‘10% less time rule.’įor example, if you have to write a 40 minute English essay in an assessment, practice writing out an essay in 36 minutes instead of the full 40. If you want to write faster, you have to train your hand to write quickly under exam conditions. Practice makes perfect when it comes to quick and legible handwriting. Once you’ve found the right pen, practice with it! Handwrite all your study essays to get extra practice and increase your writing speed. Test each pen, looking for the ones that feel the best, the smoothest, the quickest, and ultimately, the easiest to write with. We suggest that if you haven’t found the right brand of pen to help you in your exams, go to Officeworks or your local stationery store and buy ten different pens to experiment with. Using a tool of this kind can help you overcome this creative roadblock easily and help you continue with the assignment.Having the right type of pen is critical in your ability to write quickly. Many times, you want to use a single sentence in your own work without quoting it but paraphrasing it on your own can be difficult, especially when the sentence is short. Therefore, paraphrasing avoids using too many quotations and proves your own comprehension of the subject you’re writing about. Simply providing quotes doesn’t mean you understand what’s been quoted, it only means you know its relevance to your topic. Paraphrasing implies your own comprehension of a subject. Another reason for using a paraphrasing tool is to reduce the number of quotes you have in a given assignment. You can further change what’s been paraphrased to even better fit the audience you want to reach. Using a paraphrasing tool on the parts of that scientific report you want to use will give you alternatives to its original use. But that same content might still be useful in supporting your argument, so you want to include it. For example: when using a scientific study as a source, the text is often written in a very dry, unfriendly way to readers outside of scientific fields. Therefore, using a paraphrasing tool is useful in altering a given text to fit a particular audience. Sometimes, sources might be written at too high of a comprehension level, or conversely too low. The person or group of people consuming your content need to be able to connect with what you’ve written and understand it. When writing, the audience is an important factor. ![]()
